COMMISSION A PORTRAIT

When a client hires me to create a portrait of them or a family member I feel honored. There’s a lot of trust on their part. Over and over I have earned that trust and delivered a piece of art that brings joy. There’s no ego in it for me- I work for my client. They have a vision and I am going to make it come alive by capturing my subject’s likeness with paint, and more importantly, their spirit. When I unveil a portrait and a dad cries, I have done my job!

qUOTE FROM ARTIST

“Why portraits? Aren’t people the hardest to paint?” Not for me. Even as a kid, all I wanted to draw were people. Now, if I’m talking to someone, I’ll do my best to pay attention to the conversation because I’m so distracted watching their muscles move and the lighting on the face and wondering which colors I’d mix for this shade or that. The satisfaction of creating someone’s image on canvas, to see them come alive before my eyes – that’s why I paint people
